Tracy Edkins

Tracy believes people are the most important asset of any organization. Serving as a global C-Level HR executive, Tracy has driven organizational transformation with a particular focus on diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) for leaders in the enterprise software and consumer sectors. Tracy is an expert at evaluating a company’s leadership strength, board composition, culture and workforce strategy to drive sustainability and climate action through cross-enterprise engagement.

Background

Tracy brings 20+ years of experience as a business-oriented HR partner for industry leaders, including Splunk, eBay, and Starbucks. She currently serves as an advisor to Al Gore’s Generation Investment Management firm where she plays a key role in assessing the leadership, organizational health, board composition and Human Capital programs of target investments in the Growth Equity space. She is a trusted advisor to CEO’s and executive management on alignment of culture throughout the organization with a strong focus on diversity, equality and inclusion (DEI). 

At Generation, Tracy leverages her experience in M&A and due diligence to provide a comprehensive assessment of a target company through a leadership and human capital lens. As Chief Human Resources Officer for Splunk (Nasdaq: SPLK), Tracy successfully evolved its culture during a time of significant growth with a workforce strategy focused on DEI programs that drove the acquisition and retention of a diverse workforce resulting in a growth of 1,200 employees to over 5,500 in just 4 years in multiple locations and countries. Tracy was a key member of Splunk’s executive team overseeing M&A diligence, collaborating with Splunk’s Board of Directors to determine fit, along with the subsequent integration of six technology and talent company acquisitions. Tracy also worked closely with the Board on the selection of new board members and attended all board meetings and compensation committee meetings, further informing her understanding of corporate governance and procedures.
