Jim is one of the world’s foremost ESG/Sustainability practitioners. His teams led and developed groundbreaking programs ranging from the industry leading Healthy Heart Africa addressing healthcare infrastructure and access in sub-Saharan Africa, to Ambition Zero Carbon, one of the boldest environmental programs in industry. Jim is a longtime advocate and developer of diverse and inclusive cultures that deliver results for customers, employees, supply chains, communities, and investors. He is a recognized thought leader in sustainability, Diversity & Inclusion and was named one of Compliance Week Magazine’s Top Minds in 2019.
Most recently as Vice President, Global Sustainability at AstraZeneca (AZ), Jim was a key member of the leadership team that developed an innovative 2025 strategy establishing sustainability as one of three enterprise priorities, driving unprecedented executive commitment and a $1B investment for environmental protection. He built the company’s first sustainability program, Lead with Health, that led to AZ’s recognition as one of Corporate Knights 100 Most Sustainable Companies for the past four years. Jim brings business results to sustainability by leveraging his decade of P&L roles at Johnson & Johnson where he worked on some of the world’s most iconic brands like Tylenol.
